Nicolas Colin's work is some of the best I've seen this year. Great summary.
And while I used to, I no longer can force myself to read through Azeem's regular hype firehose. Especially after he regularly regurgitated Ranga Dias's room-temperature superconducting fraud without even so much as pausing to ask a single skeptical question.
I’m a subscriber to Exponential View, but I’m not sure I’ll renew. I think if you have a title like that, everything has to look as if it’s exponential, which doesn’t necessarily help with quality of analysis. But it’s sometimes useful as a pointer to other more sober sources, such as the RAND report here, which I would have missed otherwise.
I appreciate Azeem's coverage and broad perspective. But when it seems incentivized to promote rumor as much as news, and does not distinguish between the two, that's where I am forced to question where he isn't being thorough enough.
That said, that RAND report is useful and I have not seen that mentioned in other newsletters. So thank you for sharing it.
